Just in the local vicinity there are 12 fishing lochs, a shooting range, a sailing park, and the Cumbernauld Glen Wildlife Reserve. There are many scenic walks around the Slamannan Plateau, which is 200 feet above sea level, with views overlooking the Firth of Forth, and the Queensferry Bridge. If you need food supplies, both Tesco and Asda delivery to the lodge, and there is a Chinese takeaway and fish and chip shop in the village.
